As we enter the final quarter of 2023, B’ham PIP for October was all about finishing the year on a high with plenty of time for more deals to be done by our active members – inspired by the very active speakers and sponsors.
And we had another special guest host – Richard Lloyd – Bristol PIP member but a regular at Birmingham PIP too!
The day started as usual with introductions from attendees.
Daniel Kennedy, long term B’ham member and experienced landlord, investor, developer, sourcer and construction company owner – keynoted with another superb presentation. He shared details on the projects he’s currently working on and shared his rules of investment. Catch up with them in the vault – a presentation not to be missed!
Pinder Dhaliwal of Falcon Insurance gave us an insurance update with another reminder of how much rebuild costs have increased and the danger of being underinsured!
A recent review of a new client’s portfolio found it to be over 70% underinsured!
Rus – from Serco was next to present with details of Serco’s Assylum Accomodation Support Contract and how it can be an option for investors looking to lease properties on a long term basis on secure contracts.
Peter Vandervennin, from The Mortgage Consultancy presented next with an update on rates – but also with news of a new lender that could use equity in your home to provide bridging finance.
Richard Lloyd – our special guest host was the final speaker of the day and shared his journey from life at Lloyd’s the bank to life as a property investor.
Richard started with the solid strategy of getting 5 HMOs under his belt. This gave him the foundation to move onto bigger developments through experience gained and the contacts he built from regular networking.
The meeting concluded with the famous Round Tables, continuing the discussions and the networking.
