Another brilliant day at PIP Bristol on the 24th of November, the focus this month was on rental reform and providing quality accessible accommodation.
The first speaker of the day was Michaela Anaka, who travelled from London to speak, she is a portfolio landlady, the south east ARLA rep and runs a very successful letting agency. The talk was around the rental reform bill going through parliament and what this will mean for landlords. Her presentation was very informative with members saying that it was honest, factual and extremely helpful to cut through the jargon & political nonsense.
Out second speaker was Bristol’s own Elaine Hollerhead, a train Occupational Therapist and interior designer, Elaine flies the flag for accessible living, showing landlords how to make their properties both functional and fabulous! She shows a wide array of brilliant design ideas for meeting all range of accessibility needs and how landlords can open their portfolio up to new markets. Feedback from the members was very positive, with one saying that they didn’t realise accessible properties could look as fantastic, especially in small spaces, like children’s bedrooms with hidden in-built lifts.
After some brilliant networking and a spot of lunch, our tables hosts and local experts hosted the usual round table discussions. Arguably the best part of the day, the round tables are a great chance to get into the nitty gritty of a topic and really drill deep. Our Bristol members always ask quality questions and enjoy grilling the speakers on their topics.
